How scheduling on Kaptive Players works

Scheduling shows content on your Kaptive Players at specific times. Instead of showing one default project all the time, you create schedule entries. Each entry plays a project or a playlist on the players you choose, during a time range that can repeat.

Open Schedule in the sidebar to see all entries of your workspace in the calendar. Switch between Week and Day and use Today to jump back to the current date. You can filter the calendar by project, player or tag.

Create a schedule entry

1. In the calendar, click and drag over the time range the entry should cover.
2. Choose Project or Playlist, then select the content.
3. Under Assign players, select the players that show the entry.
4. Click Add entry.

To change the timing, click the entry in the calendar. In Edit entry, you can change the Date, the Start time and End time, or turn on All day. Under Repeat, choose Does not repeat, Daily or Weekly. For a repeating entry, set when it ends or choose No end date. Click Save to apply your changes.

When you delete a repeating entry, you can delete This occurrence or All occurrences.

Note

Entries can overlap. When two entries for the same player overlap, the player shows the narrower one. This lets you place a short entry inside a longer one, for example a special announcement during the day’s regular content.

Tip

Under Start script and End script, you can run a script on the player when the entry starts or ends.

Choose the players

The schedule is shared by your whole workspace. You choose the target players directly on each entry: when you create or edit an entry, select the players under Assign players. Each player then shows the entries that target it, according to their time ranges and repetition settings. You can filter the schedule by player or tag to see what a specific player shows.

When no entry is active for a player at the current time, the player shows its default project. This gives you fallback content outside scheduled time slots. Read how to set the default project in Assign your project.

Publish updates of your schedule

Changes to the schedule are a draft until you publish them. Click the orange Publish button in the schedule to update all players right away. To discard your changes, use Revert to go back to the published schedule.
